Pattern recognition

Did anybody use FANN for pattern recognition (image processing related work).

I'd appreciate a small example if available.

I can't really give you a sample for proprietary reasons, but I have done
optical character recognition with ANNs. The inputs were just normalized
grayscale values for each pixel in an 8x8 image (64 inputs).
