This is my first post to the mailing list, I don't know if people
normally introduce themselves on mailing lists but anyhoo..
I've been using FANN for about a year, experimenting with neural
networks as a tool for stock market indication. I'm 22 and living in
Southern California and hoping to soon attend the University of
California, Irvine.
My question is this: Why not have a FANN forum / message board instead
of (or in addition to) a mailing list? I mean a real forum, using some
system like PHPBB or the like. The forums implemented on sourcefourge
feel inadequate and impersonal, not to mention that they are obviously
not nearly as active as the mailing list.
Also, questions on an active forum can be answered much more quickly
than a mailing list. Many people are also used to the forum structure
that are not familiar with a mailing list, or they don't want their
inboxes cluttered.
The forum could be held on the actual FANN site, so new users would be
able to find it easily.
I think an official FANN general forum would be a great benefit to the
FANN community.
