Growing neural gas

Hi everybody,

in the current version of the FANN reference manual ("for latest CVS
release"), I've read with great interest about the new implementation of
growing neural gas.
However, neither the normal ZIP archive nor the current CVS version does
include this feature. It presumingly is downloadable from the gsoc2007
branch, but not without a login/password.

So, the question is: Independent of the status (beta or not), is there
any way for "normal" users to download a version of FANN that includes
GNG - especially since it is already mentioned in the docs?
Or did I simply miss something here?

Hi,

As you noticed, the Neural Gas code is not in the main release yet, but
the gsoc2007 branch. I don't believe it requires a password to check out
though. For example, something like this will work:

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous-***@public.gmane.org:/cvsroot/fann co -r
gsoc2007 -P fann

Let me know how it works for you when you get it up and running!

what?? Seems like you're right, I can check it out (& compile) without
problems. Amazing. Seems like I made some kind of stupid mistake
earlier.
