FANN PHP Extension (PECL)

Hello all. I recently started messing around with FANN, specifically the
PHP Bindings and I found that the PHP extension does have a few known
issues. Specifically, it won't compile automagically for PHP 5.2.0 or
greater, and still only supports FANN library 1.2 and not the newer 2.x
revisions. That being said, I'm interested in updating the current PECL
package to accomodate the aforementioned scenarios and subsequently become
the maintainer for the extension. After exchanging emails with Evan
Nemerson (the current maintainer) he suggested that I contact the FANN
mailing list, state my intensions and find out if any one out there has
already done what I'm proposing to do.

So, has anyone possibly updated the extension and if not any objections with
my current plan?

Thanks!

I do not think that anyone has looked at the PHP bindings for a long time.

Looking forward to see an updated package.

Best Regards,
Steffen
